Happiness is an Inside Job

“We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have,
but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have.”

                         Frederick Koenig

The whole month of February will be devoted to ‘Happiness’.

I think many of us have lived our lives from ‘the outside in’.  We’re waiting to be happy until we get something; new job, new relationship, more money, new car, new hairstyle (that’s me), fill in your blank.

When we so busy wanting something else – we forget to appreciate what we do have.  There’s a lot of stuff we’ve accumulated over the years that we did want at some point.  It made us happy at one point.  But …. here’s the secret – none of those things are responsible for our happiness.

I’ve come to realize that true happiness – and living a more ‘balanced life’ comes from ‘the inside out’ – appreciating my life right now – just the way it is and recognizing that I already have everything I need to be happy – because all I need is Me.

Happiness is truly an  Inside Job!

Tell us what you appreciate in your life right now.

Here’s to living a Heart-Centered Life!
