“Happiness doesn’t depend on what we have,
but does depend on how we feel towards what we have. We can be happy with little and miserable with much.” – W.D. Hoard
I couldn’t think of a better way to close out this month and our happiness focus than with this quote. Our ‘state of mind’ – and our happiness begins and ends with our thoughts and feelings.
Now, I’m not saying that things and people don’t bring us joy and contentment. But it doesn’t matter what we have in our lives if we don’t appreciate them.
Not only appreciate them, but be ‘unattached‘ from them. Our happiness doesn’t come from having them any more than our ‘unhappiness’ comes from not having them.
Living a ‘balanced life’ means balancing the ‘have‘ with the ‘have not’ and knowing that none of it is responsible for our happiness.
A ‘Heart-Centered’ life is about opening UP to the joy that is already there – all the time!
