No Time Like Now

No Time Like Now

What may be done at any time will be done at no time.” – Scottish Proverb

Procrastination!

It is one of the biggest obstacles to good time management and one of the biggest sources of anxiety and frustration!

Procrastination robs us of our peace of mind and our sense of accomplishment.

It not only wastes time (thinking about what we’re putting off) but many times adds more time to the task at hand!

The best cure for procrastination is to just start!  Period.

Begin – Take the first step.

You’ll find that it’ll be a lot easier to take the next step, then the next and the next.  The next thing you know – you’ve completed that which you’ve been putting off!

Living a ‘Balanced-Life’ means learning what you need to do NOW and what legitimately can wait until Later.

So how do you know if you have to do it now or if it can wait?

Ask yourself these questions:

  1. What’s the impact or consequences if I put this off?
  2. Do I have everything I need to begin this now?
  3. Do I need to complete this all now or can I do a piece of it?
  4. How do I feel about this?  (ie – frustrated, overwhelmed, anxious, excited, etc.)

Release your need for it to be Perfect.  Perfectionism is a close cousin to Procrastination.  Things will never be ‘perfect‘ because there’s no such thing – it’s just our perception and our own standards.

Sometimes ‘good enough’ is good enough.  So stop procrastinating.  There’s no time like Now!
